Learn Lean Office Techniques with Audrey Thomas, professional organizer, author, organizing speaker, and leading organizing authority on lean office, lean manufacturing, and office organizingI became a professional speaker completely by accident. In the early 1990’s my friends asked if they could come over to my home so I could teach them how to be better organized. I thought they were joking. They weren’t.

Soon they began telling others about me and I began to get requests to speak on the topic of organization. Known as Organized Audrey, it wasn’t long until I received a call from a little company by the name of 3M. They wanted to hire me as a Lunch and Learn presenter; I was told to expect 50-75 in my session. Imagine my surprise when I found out that over 500 had signed up for my presentation! I finally realized the need people had for my information.

Other companies began calling and eventually requested that I develop sessions around the topic of Office Organization. In time another company made a request: Would I be willing to adapt my Office Organization seminar to accommodate Lean Office principles?

Amidst my research, I was pleasantly surprised to realize I was already teaching many of the Lean Office principles; I just hadn’t labeled it as such or incorporated language such as 5S or 7 Areas of Waste.

Eventually the Lean Scene newsletter was created to serve as a tool to communicate regularly with employees.

Clients report that my Lean Office training is easy to understand and that they finally “get it”. My goal is to help others get as excited about Lean as I am.
